Three Oaks, Michigan
is host to several unique special events throughout the year. Ongoing events include “Music in the Park,” a summer concert series (held through September.) This “family friendly” event is held every Saturday evening in Dewey Cannon Park in Three Oaks. You are advised to bring a chair or blanket, as bench seating is limited. The town’s Harbor Arts Organization sponsors classic film art and Shakespeare in the summertime, as well as the Art Attack’s Performance Art Festival and the Festival of Lights in the wintertime. Exciting performances are also ongoing at Three Oaks fabulous Acorn Theater. The following is a list of the other major events in the town of Three Oaks and some of the other nearby towns in Southwest Michigan’s Harbor Country.
Three Oaks Flag Day Celebration in June. This event features the largest Flag Day Parade in the country and other activities such as a rodeo, “Art in the Park,” games and live music and a book sale.
Great American MusicFest and Fireworks in July, held in downtown Three Oaks.
Lakeside Arts & Crafts Festival, usually held in July in Lakeside, Michigan.
Annual Moonlight Madness in Harbor Country. Usually held in July, businesses are open for sales, discounts, art exhibitions and live music until the stroke of midnight.
Lakeside Ice Cream Social, an annual family event held in Lakeside Park.
Annual Blues Fest held in Watkins Park in Three Oaks. This special event features various blues bands and a laser light show.
Apple Cider Century Event. More than 7,000 cyclists enjoy 100 miles of Harbor Country trails. This is an annual one-day bicycle tour of the orchards, forests and wine country in and around Three Oaks sponsored by the Three Oaks Spokes Bicycle Club.
Harbor Country Harvest Days. Usually held in October, this event includes demonstrations, live entertainment, hayrides, a farmers market, scarecrow contest and lots of seasonal decorations such as pumpkins, cornstalks and scarecrows.
Annual Tractor Show and Swap Meet. Held in October, this show highlights the development and preservation of antique gas powered engines and tractors. Food is available, as well as a farmers market.
Country Christmas-Magical Saturdays. Throughout the season, the whole Harbor Country area participates in these special holiday “happenings” every Saturday that includes gallery events, children’s activities, parades, a Teddy Bear Tea and Cookie Walk.
